So I did get a few mails and suggestions from CONCERNED people who were quite surpised that my Google PR had dropped. Well I did worry about it too as it happened offcycle and caught me by surprise.
I have had suggestions that I should consider changing my domain itself and start the site afresh. I know it sounds crazy, but when people panic these are very much sane thoughts.
I never considered that option as now I have learnt to live over and above the PR.
I now look at my sites as a little bit of me, that I have fun building and sharing with others. PR is just a byproduct and if you are looking to monetize your site, then nothing sells like traffic.
Now there is another angle to look at it.
After my PR downgrade I did moniter my SERPs for the keywords that I was ranking for and after a few weeks I came to the conclusion that my SERPs had not been affected.
If I look at it from a different angle then I could also conclude that my PR downgrade was a result of a chain reaction that could have hit my backlink sources.
So I am still clean.
Lastly, for those of you whose sites have been removed from the Google index should clean up their mess (links to bad neighborhood, links to totally unrelated sites, making it too obvious that you are selling links, in case of directories try restructuring your categories, fill up the empty index, maybe open up the free submission channels for a while) and submit a reincusion request to Google.
Cheers, and if you would like an advise then I would suggest that you concentrate on building readership and traffic for your sites and directories and you will enjoy and make more money.
Sounds to unreal, but trust me when I say that I am doing well with the philosophy.
