Jeff has consolidate information and prepared a list of web directories based on their backlinks as registered in Yahoo.

As quoted:

I’ve used Yahoo! (linkdomain command) to find out the number of backlinks, as MSN has disabled their backlink checker and Google has purposefully been misleading webmasters with their backlink checker for years.

One thing to note about the number of Yahoo! backlinks is that they seem to fluctuate within a range of about 10% or so, so all of the figures are approximate, and are just snapshots of what I found today.

The big winner, of course is Yahoo! as they are much more than just a directory. They come in with a whopping 633,418,783 backlinks.

So if you are a web directory owner with more than 100K backlinks, you can request Jeff for inclusion in this list.

Nice to see some hardcore promoters in this list and well i guess i will strive to be on that list sooner or later.
